COVID UPDATE
>>UPDATED FINAL WELCOME LETTER HERE<<
Hong Kong still has strict pandemic/social restrictions in force and although restrictions have been mostly been lifted from large scale in-door gatherings, the government has advised us that they continue to believe that small scale outdoor trail events are an especially high risk activity. Whilst we feel these policies are not consistent or measured, we believe the reward in bringing our community back together for our first in-person event in 3 years is worth the effort. We will continue to press the government for a more reasonable policy (see bottom of this page), but in the meantime, to receive our 599G exemption we must adhere to the following restrictions:
-
Event size is reduced to 500 pax.
-
We will not be able to serve any food during the race but participants can bring their own.
-
Participants must show a PCR test no earlier than 48 hours prior to the race start (just show an SMS is fine).
-
Participants must show a photo of negative RAT test at the race start.
-
Participants must be fully vaccinated and only be 'blue code' and not have a temperature above 37.5c. You will have to sign a health declaration form.
-
We will have wave starts.
-
Official government permits - HAVE RECENTLY BEEN ISSUED.
This year, due to government pandemic restrictions, we will have 70% less participants than our usual event and our sponsorship revenue will be significantly impacted. Even though the cost of staging the event has similar fixed costs, we have maintained our registration fee (in fact we have lowered it). These restrictions are frustrating, but we feel after 3 years, its time to bring our community together and hope that this will be the final year of Covid restrictions. We appreciate your support and understanding. We wish a big thank you to the whole MoonTrekker community who have helped keep this event special. Please see our T&Cs regarding our cancelation policy... just in case.
Thank you
William Sargent, Race Director & Founder, Barclays MoonTrekker
